DESIGN DIRECTION (the no-slop pass)

Concept: the ledger itself — ruled lines, column figures, red ink. Type is Newsreader (display) + Hanken Grotesk (text) + DM Mono for figures only, never running prose. Exactly one chromatic colour, #b23a1e, doing one job: something needs a decision ("needs you"), plus the primary button. Two border-radii, zero gradients, zero shadows — structure is hairlines. The signature moment is the statement lines settling onto the ruled line and picking up their category as they land.

I found and fixed three real defects by looking at renders: the CSS animation was parking at its first keyframe in a headless/hidden browser (no backwards fill now, 6 px offsets, and a frozen render still paints the resting state); the shorter sample card was stretching and leaving a 300 px hole inside its border; and a separator was dangling after a line wrap. Also fixed an orphaned "departments." and a split "INV / 021".

Copy has no banned openers, no testimonials, no stat-banner filler, no numbered-steps section; pricing is collapsed to a single plan in one row; and there's a "Look elsewhere if…" section that says who it's not for. The sample month reconciles arithmetically (£2,535 income, £2,609.18 expenses, £92.98 software, £735 marketplace) and every figure is labelled invented.

LEFT / CAVEATS
